Biography: Internationally recognized artist Stefan Savides, acknowledged front runner in the field of bird taxidermy, produces dimensional still lifes of unmatched beauty.

His award-winning creations are so anatomically correct, the world's top carvers and artists seek his works for reference.

Every piece is an original. The elements of design, emotion and anatomy dictate the unique impact of each piece.

Birds are recreated in natural attitudes that depict an intimate setting of their life in nature.

You can view Stefan's taxidermy currently on display at the Klamath Basin National Wildlife headquarters "Visitor Center" in Tulelake, California (530) 667-2231.  Or you may call and make an appointment for an Avian Design studio tour in Klamath Falls, Oregon (541) 885-2912.  His mounts are also on display at Cabela's stores located in Owatonna, Minnesota and Dundee, Michigan. His bronze sculptures can be seen at the Clearwater Gallery in Klamath Falls Oregon; at the Wingbeat Gallery in Mount Shasta, California; and at the prestigious Collectors Covey Gallery in Dallas, Texas.

Sculpture News:   Besides pelicans, one of Stefan's recently created bird sculptures was of the African Hammerkop which was selected for the highly acclaimed premier juried show "2006 Birds in Art" at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin.  Titled "Zambezi Stalker", this piece stood out among the 1075 entries submitted by 654 artists from around the world.  Currently the "Zambezi Stalker" bronze is among 60 selected works of art that is now on tour in the U.S. through July 2007.  Locally, Stefan received a "Pat on the Back" award at the 14th annual "Answer People" luncheon in Klamath Falls, Oregon "for generously contributing to the Pelicans on Parade project by donating the original design and sculpting the pelican."  Stefan's new, 7-foot-high, monumental American White Pelican to be cast in bronze is forthcoming!
