The "Bird Swirl" pelican (now dismantled) was on exhibit throughout 2007 at the Klamath County Museum, after 6+ months (spring through fall 2006) of creative work by Justin Coulter's Klamath Union High School art class. Some said it couldn't be done. But the students seized the challenge, and together created an amazing work of art. Here, Annie Anderson puts finishing touches on the creation over 10-feet-high. Annie is a senior who hopes to pursue an Art degree at the University of Oregon in 2007. This POP! pelican was sponsored by the Klamath Basin Ecosystem Restoration Office, through an Outreach and Education grant focusing on migratory birds in the Klamath Basin.
